Goat/Sheep Sales

When: First Tuesday of every month (no sale in July)
Time:  Small animals 10:30 am
           Goats/sheep 1:00 pm
Check in: Goats and sheep may be checked in Monday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm and Tuesday from 7:30 am until 12:00 noon.
Charges: $10.00 per/head; $20.00 per/family.
$ .50 yardage per/head; $3.00 scrapie tag fee per/head if not ear tagged.  

Scrapie Regulations-Sheep & Goats

In an effort to eradicate scrapie in the United States, USDA requires sheep and goats to have flock identification ear tags that list their flock of origin. 

All sheep and goats must have scrapie ID tags in their ears.  If you do not have your animals tagged, they will be ear tagged when checked in at a charge of $3.00 per head.

To obtain tags owners can contact the USDA-APHIS-VS at 217-547-6030

APHIS will assist owners in ordering the tags, which are provided at no cost.
